Darrell Lambert dies at 77; funeral Friday
Funeral services for Darrell Ephraim Lambert, 77, Roosevelt, will be held Friday, Sept. 7, at 1:00 p.m. at the Roosevelt Stake Center, under direction of Bishop Merrill Millett of the Roosevelt LDS Ward. Mr Lambert died at his home Tuesday at 5: p.m. following a long cancer illness.
He was born in Woodland, Utah, Aug. 16, 1885, a son of Ephraim and Agnes Michie Lambert. He married Agnes Patry in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Jan 4, 1911.
An early pioneer of the Uintah Basin, Mr. Lambert was a successful stockman and farmer. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as ward teacher supervisor for a number of years.
Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary Thursday evening and Friday until time of services. Internment will be in the Roosevelt City Cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Agnes Patry Lambert; daughters and sons, Mrs. J.G. (Inez) Poore, San Juan, Peru; Jay D. Lambert, Castro Valley, Calif.; Mrs. L.B. (Marilyn) Higgins, Salt Lake City; Virginia M. Lambert, University of Wisconsin at Madison; sister, Mrs. May L. Hoyt, Roosevelt; 3 brothers, Clyde, Altonah; Clarence, Rexburg, Idaho; Glen, Vernal; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family suggested that instead of floral offerings, if friends desire, they may submit contributions to the American Cancer society, c/o Irene Ruppel, sec., Roosevelt, Utah.
