Death Claims Ex-Educator R. F. Lambert
KAMAS--Richard Franklin Lambert, 72, Kamas educator and former president of the Kamas Town Board, died in a Salt Lake hospital Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. after a stroke.
Born Dec 14, 1889, in Kamas, he was a son of Richard Franklin and Elva E. Woolstenhulme Lambert. On Aug. 9, 1927, he married Thora Aurelia Rogers in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an active member in the Church, serving in the Kamas Ward bishopric and in both the South Summit Stake and Kamas Ward Sunday School and Mutual Improvement Association.
A graduate of Brigham Young University, Mr. Lambert had taught school for 17 years. He had been Kamas postmaster for 14 years and was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his widow; sons and daughters, Rogers F., Brigham City; Glen Richard, Los Angeles; Kay G., Mountain View, Calif.; Eugene S., Provo; Mrs. Jordon C. (Aurelia) Peterson, Provo; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Ira C., Mackay, Idaho; John A., Kamas, and a sister, Mrs Eudora Jones, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Kamas Ward chapel. Friends may call at the ranch of John Lambert, two miles west of Kamas, Friday evening and Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery with military rites by the Weber River Post, American Legion.
