MARGARET JANE LAMBERT HEAD
Aug. 28, 1852 - April 10, 1920
Margaret Jan Lambert was born near Nauvoo in Hancock county, Ill. Her youth was spent attending the Lincoln rural school and assisting in her home and those of the neighborhood who needed help. She was united with the L.D.S. church.
In 1871, she was married to Charles W. Siegfried and together they went to Humboldt, Kas., where they pioneered. Two sons were born there, one of whom died in infancy, and the other, George F. Siegfried, died in 1896. When her husband died in 1874, she returned to her parental home.
On January 27, 1877, she was married to Alfred W. Head at Adrian, Ill., where they lived on a farm for a few years, later moving to Iowa and from there to Missouri, where she spent the latter years of her life. five children were born, four of whom are still living.
Her untiring devotion to the church and to all its activities and her constant thoughtfulness of others were beautiful illustrations of her loyalty and fidelity to her Creator.
