George Wilde recalls the following sawmills in Weber Canyon: ...Dan Lambert, in Smith and Moorehouse; ... Jed Lambert over the Rock Slide ...
      -------------------

Newspaper: Wasatch Wave, Heber City, Utah, 20 Dec 1890, "Kamas Kinks:"
J.G. Lambert had a very narrow escape on the 15th while attemting to gum out a saw with an emery stone which was attached to a planer. The stone was going at a high rate of speed when it flew to pieces, one of them striking Mr. Lambert on the side of the head inflicting a deep and ugly wound. When he was picked up he was unconscious but soon regained his senses and explained the cause of the accident.

      Ibid. - 16 Jan 1893, "Kamas Kinks:"
The Carpenter and Lambert sawmils have consolidated at last for some reason and now that they have things arranged nicely the mines have shut down on them, so we think they would have done better had they stayed out of the combine business.

      Ibid. - 23 Jan 1893, "Kamas Kinks:"
Well, the past week has seen quite a change in the business affairs of Kamas. J.W. Carpenter is no longer the sawmill king. He sold out to Lambert & Co. making a positive agreement not to go into the mill business again for two years. this, of course, looks bad for John as he hasn't done very well for the last three years. I haven't figured very close but am quite safe in saying that in rain or shine, work or play, and Sundays thrown in, he has not made less that $1 a day during the above mentioned time. A man ought to know when to let well enough alone.

The new saw mill company doesn't seem to stand in with the loggers at all, so the boys are securing the names of all the loggers they can and contemplate putting in a new mill and all the loggers own it. If they succeed, loggers will be at a premium for the company now running. some of the boys have thrown in from $20 up to help get the new enterprise started and one man has even offered to board himself and work in the mill for two months free. a meeting will be held on the 22nd when a full report of the entrprise will be given. this will be a good thing for all as opposition is the life of trade in any town.

      Ibid. - 20 Feb 1893, "Kamas Kinks"
Lambert & Co. have been running their No # sawmill, in Weber canyon, for the past week finishing up some of their timber bills before shutting down for the winter, which they intend doing.

      Ibid. - 20 Mar 1893, "Kamas Kinks"
Lamber & Co.'s sawmill in town is rumming but the boys can't get any money--nothing but store pay. .. Lambert & Co.'s No. 3 sawmill in Weber canyon has closed down and but very little is doing about town. Money is seldom and the town is dead. all that is heard now is the occasional howl of a hungry dog off on some lonesome corner.

      Ibid. - 8 May 1893, "Kamas Kinks"
Our co-operative sawill will soon be in operation and is hoped will prove a success and a benefit to the town and all connected with it.

      J. G. Lambert & Co.'s sawmills are again running and the comtemplate cuttout out all the logs on hand as they have a bill of some 200,000 feet to fill. We are in hopes times will liven up soon.

      Ibid. - 31 Jul 1895, "Kamas Kinks"
J.W. carpener's saw mill is still running as of old. The Park City Bank is suing Lambert & Co. of Kamas.

Newspaper: Park Record, Park City, Utah, 1897-05-15, "Park Float", p 3
J.G. Lambert of Kamas was in the Park the fore part of the week soliciting subscriptions towards the purchase and erection of telephone poles between Coalville and Kamas. the gentleman met with fairly good success and it will be only a few weeks at the farthest before telephonic communication will be established between Coalville and intermediate points by way of Kamas.
